Nancy L. Heinrich, M.P.H
Nancy L. Heinrich, M.P.H., is an epidemiologist who transforms the lives of people with diabetes – and their families – so they are in control of this disease and no longer living in fear of it. Through this lens, her goal is to help alter the course of the childhood obesity epidemic in the U.S. before it becomes an unstoppable tsunami on American health, business, education, national security, and social systems.
Her public health background includes extensive prevention and control work in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, and hepatitis. She is a member of American Public Health Association and American Association of Diabetes Educators. A graduate of University of Alabama-Birmingham and Florida Atlantic University, Nancy is the author of Healthy Living with Diabetes: One Small Step at a Time and the visionary creator of an 8-week diabetes education program (www.HealthyDiabetesCoach.com). Her consulting company, Economic Wellness Works, LLC, teaches C-office employees to make integrity-based decisions, improve companies’ bottom lines, and improve health outcomes and productivity of employees and their families.
Nancy is the founder of Growing Healthy Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on reducing, halting, and reversing childhood obesity. Growing Healthy Kids collaborates with Boys and Girls Clubs of Indian River County, Florida and Vero Beach-Treasure Coast Kiwanis Club and conducts educational programs and workshops for children and families. Growing Healthy Kids teaches, inspires and motivates kids and adults to eat healthier and get moving.
