Julia M Lindsey Today's post is to remind our readers that we are sponsoring the first ever, Our Little Books poetry contest. But please note, the August 31st deadline is quickly approaching. If you ever wanted to be a published poet, here is your chance! All winners will have their poems published in The Little Book of Inspirational Poetry. For more information see the Poetry Contest page.
We have received submissions from people who wrote their poems back in the '70s and '80s while in college. We have received poems from people who have never thought to share their poetry with anyone before. We have received poems from people who have dreamed of being a published poet. Whatever your reason, share your poems with the world. Who knows who you may inspire! Your poem may be the poem that changes someone's life. Now, how cool would that be?
Even if you don't have a poem, if you know anyone that loves to write poetry and would love to be published, please pass this information along. They will thank you profusely!
To get you in the mood I thought I would include my favorite inspirational poem.

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This is one of my favorite poems of all times. It continues to inspire me today. It reminds me that we are free to choose our destiny. You can choose your path by living deliberately or you can live by default.
What does the poem say to you? Do you have a favorite poem?

When I was studying I have already read this poem and it makes me wonder what way I am going to take. But somehow I realized that some events must be pass in a short time some are in a huge time.
This poem makes me realized that I must balanced the way I should take.
We are free to choose our own destiny,but we need to understand all things does not come for free it need hardships and we need to face consequences from what we've chosen.
